The Boomathon Support page
The Support page in the Boomathon header gives you a technical view of every seat, stream and role in your sessions. Use it when a participant cannot get in, when a team's stream has not set up, or when you need to send someone their link again. It shows your organisation's upcoming sessions, live sessions and those finished in the last 24 hours.
Finding a session
The Find a session page lists sessions with filters for All, Live, Upcoming and Finished (24h), and a search box for a session code, event name or stream id. Sessions that need attention carry warning badges: Stream set-up failed, Waiting for credits, N teams without VR or N without a seat. Click Open.
The session support view
The header shows the organisation, date, registration mode, preset and facilitator region, with buttons for Host control, Observe and Retry provisioning. If there is a stream set-up error or the session is waiting for credits, a card explains it (see Credits for Boomathon).
Participant game stream controls how participants open Boomerang. By default it "Opens in a new tab, so it works without third-party cookies." Embed instead switches to an embedded player on the play page, which "Fails for browsers that block third-party cookies", so we recommend leaving the default unless Jenson8 advises otherwise.
Each team shows its stream status and current round, followed by a seat table with columns Participant, In game, Stream, Role, PIN and Links. From here you can:
- Open stream - view a participant's stream to see exactly what they see. This is the fastest way to troubleshoot with someone on a call.
- Copy a participant's PIN, or copy their Play link to resend it.
- Add to game - put a seat into the current game before the participant has opened their link, so they land straight in the round.
People who have registered but are not yet in a team are listed under Registered, no team yet, each with a Copy play link button.
Common situations
- A participant says their page is stuck on "Checking for your session..." - check their row. If the Stream column says "Stream planned", the stream has not started yet; click Retry provisioning. If it shows "No seat", they registered after teams were formed; add them to a team from the host page.
- A participant lost their link - copy their Play link and send it to them.
- A team shows "Stream not set up" - check the error card at the top (often a credit shortfall), fix the cause and click Retry provisioning.
- The embedded game shows an error page - the participant's browser is blocking third-party cookies. Make sure Participant game stream is set to open in a new tab and ask them to refresh.
